20 states now have a comprehensive privacy law with a right to deletion. One has a platform that reaches every registered broker with a single filing. Thirty have nothing. That difference decides which instrument actually works for you — and it is the difference between a request a broker can ignore and a demand with a statutory deadline.
California residents can delete themselves from every registered broker with one filing
DROP has been live since January 1, 2026, and since August 1, 2026 brokers are legally required to check it every 45 days. No other state has anything close.
