SB 362 required the California Privacy Protection Agency to build a centralised deletion platform, DROP. It opened to consumers on 1 January 2026, and since 1 August 2026 every registered broker has been legally required to check it at least every 45 days and delete the people who have filed. SB 361 doubled the daily fine for failing to register.
Why it matters to you
It is the strongest deletion right in the United States, and it is barely marketed. One filing reaches 603 registered brokers, backed by statute rather than by a contact form.
